Why do people get sick and die?
Because we live in a sinful world. When God created the world, all was perfect and He called it very good. There was no pain or suffering. But then the first humans sinned, and death entered the world. Sickness and disease are a form of death.
Romans 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Does God care when we suffer?
Yes! He does. God has a deep compassion for each human being, and He feels the pain that His children suffer.
1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
So why doesn’t God stop our suffering?
He will. The Bible tells us that the day will come when all pain and sickness will be eradicated, and those who have committed their lives to God will go to a place of eternal bliss.
Romans 8:18 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
What must I do to be saved?
Acts 16:31 – …Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…
John 3:36 – He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Acts 2:38 – Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
